“Remains of the Day”
collage, acrylic, spray paint, oil on canvas
12x30x2”, professionally framed, 2019
I’ve always been drawn visually to frontier architecture, ghost towns, western horizons, vast expanses of any kind, rocky promontories, abandoned windmills and random towers that interject the sky. The remains of September 11th, 2001 are featured in this collage as well as my sweet Mother and myself around age 3. This piece is meant to be raw, tender, mysterious. A snapshot of America in all its beautifully terrible complexity.
